The Voice Judges 2006

Geoff Dixon

Geoff Dixon Voice 2006 Judge Geoff Dixon is a singer/songwriter who has been a recording artist and now works with local kids as a tutor at More Music in Morecambe. Geoff started his professional career in early 90’s rock band ‘The Ice Factory’ who nearly hit the big time when they signed a deal with a top London recording company. Unfortunately after many TV appearances, celebrity parties and extensive touring the band split up after one release and Ice Factory were no more. Geoff then became a solo artist and spent a lot of time in London recording for PCW records. After signing a publishing deal, Geoff eventually released a single in 1995 that received national radio play and tickled the lower end of the charts. More recently he has been in the music press with his pop/rock band ‘Colourun’ and is due to release a new tune with his dance project ‘Ultraverse’ later this year. Geoff works mainly behind the scenes now as a songwriter and producer. He also mentors young musicians and budding stars of tomorrow at The Hothouse for More Music Morecambe. Geoff says, “there is such a lot of great talent around this area, it’s just so difficult to get heard by the right people. Hopefully this competition will prove to be a brilliant launch pad for someone’s career”
